Sticky Hands and Cutting Energy
In Lesson 4, we focus on a unique approach to the wooden dummy that emphasizes constant connection and tactile sensitivity. Techniques drilled include:
• Kwun Sau
• Pak Sau and cutting hand under the dummy arm
• Man Sau with throat cutting hand
• Stamping foot
• High and low Gaun Sau
Unlike many other lineages, this section is performed with continuous stickiness—there’s no disengaging from the dummy arms or slamming back into them. Each technique flows smoothly while maintaining close contact, training you to apply pressure, redirect force, and maintain control through every movement.
